Värmdö bryggeri
Värmdö bryggeri brewed it´s first batch of beer this weekend. About 2000 litres of Premium Lager is in the fermenter and hopefully ready before Christmas. Värmdö bryggeri is located on the peninsula Ingarö (at Säby Säteri) to the south-east of Stockholm. The people behind this new brewery are Stefan Slätt and Joakim Tillman. ” We have had an interest for beverages in general and beer in particular for many years “, says Stefan Slätt. ” We released our own beer brand (Maestro) last year just to learn more about sales and marketing”.
Maestro is a pale lager at 3.5 % and contract brewed at Krönleins bryggeri in Halmstad (released by Tillman och Slätts Dryckes AB).
Stefan continuous: ” The plan to start our own brewery has been around for a few years but it was not until we met the owner of Säby Säteri out on Ingarö that our plans really began to take shape . Säby Säteri already has a small-scale food production and they have plans to start a distillery and to produce cider in the near future. To be able to work with other producers and to have Säby Säteri Conference Centre close by makes this the ideal place for our brewery. To be involved in small-scale food production is clearly one of the main reason we are doing this ” .
They finalised the brewery build during the summer and recently they got the new tapline in place with a capacity of 3000 bottles per hour. The brewery will have an annual capacity of 3000 hl. The first beer they are going to brew is a Premium Lager (already in the fermenter) followed by an IPA. They have a lot of ideas for the future in how to develop their brewery and their brand. ” High quality with a lot of love and care is what we aim at “ he says.
The beers from Värmdö bryggeri will hopefully be available at the Systembolaget stores in Mölnvik, Gustavsberg and Orminge.
